Bowl Sculptor, ceramicist, artist based in the Hautes-Alpes (France).

After exploring painting, sculpture, and music as a self-taught artist, I (re)discovered ceramics; it was a revelation for me.

An infinite field of experimentation then opened up in space, matter, light, and color.

Influenced by the Japanese Wabi-Sabi (侘寂) aesthetic, poetry,
nature (minerals, plants), and my Zen (禅) practice,
I also draw inspiration from alternative cultures (DIY), Art Brut,
informal painting, and calligraphy.

Each of my pieces is unique. They are created in the spirit of technique.

They are crafted with a spirit of simplicity, by hand, in an instinctive way.

Modeled, carved, sculpted until the form appears.

They are then revealed with oxide washes, glazes (Raku, Shino, Celadon, etc.),
and plant ashes.

Finally, they are fired, sometimes re-fired,

until they become perfectly imperfect.

« Wabi-Sabi is the beauty of things that are imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete,
it is the beauty of things that are modest and humble,
it is the beauty of things that are atypical.».
